These companies let you earn online while traveling in India
- Amazon Kindle
Okay, I will start from Study.com because this one is my favorite. You can make a decent earning from this site while traveling in India.
This site helps students on topics like Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, History, Mathematics, and a few other subjects. If you are an expert in any of these subjects, you may like to register on this website. Students ask questions, and you answer-it is that simple.
To enroll, you need to answer a subject-specific question, submit your CV and satisfy the Study.com authorities why you are a good fit for this role. It is not necessary that you application might be accepted. Many applications are rejected because they are written in bad English.
Once accepted, you are assured of a steady stream of work. Payout is $1 per question so if you answer 10+ questions per day, you can buy yourself a decent meal anywhere in India.
However, there is a flip side to it. If you write bad answers, you will be dropped by this site. So be careful while writing for Study.com.
I found Studypool to be very competitive in terms of getting work, and I will explain why. It is different from Study.com in that whereas the former is a Q&A site, the latter is purely about essays and long-form articles.
While its admission process is quite similar to Study, at Studypool, you will have to bid for projects.
For example, a student has posted a project on history for which he has a budget of $25. If you are interested, you might like to bid for that project for say $24. Similarly, there would be scores of other bidders interested in that project. If you are lucky, you might land up that work.
Generally, experienced writers land up with maximum projects. If you are a newbie, you will have to continue bidding until lady luck smiles upon you.
And yes, Studypool requires you to write a short essay in order to be qualified. It may be a little difficult for you to set aside some time for essay-writing but it’s worth the effort.
Essayshark is quite similar to Studypool in its features. If you enroll in Essayshark, be active there. Lack of any activity might cause your expulsion from the site.
If you are quite active on social media, particularly Facebook, then Lionbridge is just right for you. Earn online while traveling in India by logging to this site.
Become a member of Lionbridge and rate ads. Choose your schedule, and earn $3 per rating.
Normally, a rating task comprises 20 ads that need to be evaluated on various parameters. Plus, you also have Bakeoff tasks which require you to choose one ad over the other.
Rating a set of 20 ads doesn’t take more than 20 minutes and you can rate just once in a day. So if you are in India for 30 days, you can earn $90 and pay off your travel hostel rent.
Rating ads on Lionbridge is meant essentially for frugal backpackers who count every penny they spend.
Like Lionbridge,Appen also is a rating platform.
Do you like reviewing online casinos? Are you an avid gambler? If you want to earn online while traveling in India, have a look at this site.
Though India doesn’t have any casinos, you can still review European online casinos while traveling in India. It’s quite easy but first, you will have to register at Topcontent.com
This website is into online gaming reviews essentially though you can sometimes write long form articles also. If you have good English writing skills, then you may consider writing for Topcontent.
Signing up is really easy- you will have to pass a small English test. Once you are accepted, you are given a small article to write. You are free to choose any topic – gambling, politics, gardening, relationships, technology., etc.
The flip side of working for this site while traveling is that it pays you in Euros. In India, 1 Euro fetches approximately INR 80.
The flop side- work is irregular and is snapped up by other writers. You will have to keep a constant watch on Topcontent workflow to keep the Euros flowing into your account.
Caution– If your writing is not up to the mark, you will be thrown out by this portal.
If you are one of those kinds of India travelers who document their experiences, then Amazon Kindle is the right thing for you.
Years ago, I had learned about Kindle could monetize your travel experiences. Over the past few years, I have published quite a few books on India travel over this platform.
So how did I do it?
It’s very simple really.
All you have to do is write on your preferred subject, save it in Word, and then export it to Kindle.
By the way, you will first have to open an account on this platform which is super easy.
Once you have exported your content to Kindle, generate the cover of your book, set your price and publish it, it’s that simple!
Publishing your book has never been easier since Amazon’s Kindle hit the shelves globally.
If you asked me, Kindle is my best source of revenue. Once published, your book can be your endless source of revenue. ]
If you have lots of time in your hands, you can keep writing books on any subject and submitting them to Kindle. You are the master of your content…and pricing.
So far, I have published 10 different books on Kindle but the one on an Indian Spy Princess is doing really well.
Another great thing about publishing your books on Kindle; you can choose any currency like USD, INR, GBP, etc.
Caution– The guys at Amazon are ruthless when it comes to plagiarism. If you are submitting unoriginal content, your account might be canceled by Kindle.
Shutterstock and Adobe
Put your mobile phone and camera to good use, I say. Why and how, you may ask.
If you have been taking lots of images and videos during your India tour, why don’t you submit them to Shutterstock and Adobe and make some cool, regular money?
The world wants to see your images and some of us would even like to buy them. And the two best online destinations for photos and videos are Adobe and Shutterstock.
Just open an account, and begin submitting your images and videos. And wait for someone to buy your stuff!
But before doing that, you need to take care of a few things.
One- your photos should be be high quality. Both these platforms reject images and videos that don’t meet their standards.
Two- if there are people within your images, you might be asked to produce licenses that show you have taken the necessary permissions for shooting those people.
No doubt, it’s an irritable rule but if your photos get accepted then you may start earning from them REGULARLY.
Now that you know some India traveling tips, you would also need to know the following things:
- You would have to open a PayPal or Skrill account to receive your payments.
- Even if you are an American or a European who is visiting India, your payments might be lesser than those currently residing in your country.
- Also, check with your respective embassy whether you are allowed to work as a freelancer while traveling in India.
